Chicken tikka marinade


This tikka marinade will tenderize and flavour your barbecued chicken.


1½ teaspoons
mustard seeds
1 teaspoon
cumin seeds
1 teaspoon
coriander seeds
1 red chilli,
deseeded and
roughly chopped
2 cloves
of garlic, peeled

a 2cm piece
of fresh ginger,
peeled and
roughly chopped
1 teaspoon
sea salt
1 tablespoon
garam masala
½ tablespoon
ground tumeric
5 tablespoons natural yoghurt


Put the mustard, cumin and coriander seeds in the bottom part of the Flavour Shaker™, drop the ball in and screw the top on tightly. Shake until they’ve been ground up to a powder.

Unscrew the two halves of the Flavour Shaker™ and add the chilli, garlic, ginger and salt. Screw the top back on and shake again until everything’s well mushed together.

Now add the rest of the ingredients. Shake one last time until you get a smooth creamy spicy mixture.

Serving suggestion:

Marinate your chicken in the mixture before skewering it and grilling it on the barbecue for classy chicken tikka!
